Jeannette, a 19-year Hidden Hero, advocates our American Heroes and fellow military and veteran caregivers. She founded our Central Command Post in 2018 after writing a book on homes for caregivers facing the "ever-changing daily new normal" of caring for her veteran who sustained multiple traumatic brain injuries while serving in Iraq in 2005. Growing up in locations across the western United States due to her mother’s Air Force career, this is her first experience living in the East, yet she considers all of America her hometown. Jeannette's commitment to volunteering is reflected in her involvement with non-profit organizations and community leadership, earning her distinguished President’s Volunteer Awards. Passionate about the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, she actively participates in several committees and organizations focused on changing the narrative around intimate partner and domestic violence. “We’re not alone in this journey,” she emphasizes. In her free time, Jeannette loves visiting her daughters and playing with her grandsons over ice cream. Hiking and tending to her flower beds offer her outdoor therapy, along with games like UNO and Skip-Bo. Game on!
